Our Secondary curriculum is a broad, balanced and academically rigorous learning programme
Our secondary school curriculum, through Year 7 to Year 9, follows the British model closely.
The information below gives an outline of the Key Stages in Secondary school following the British curriculum and shows which Key Stage your child would be in at Britannica International School.
The subjects studied are:
Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE)
Physical Education (PE)
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE):
IGCSEs are international qualifications developed by Pearson Edexcel and the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). At English International School, the IGCSE is typically taken by 16 year-old students, at the end of Year 11. These are external examinations. This means that the examination papers are sent to the school by Edexcel and Cambridge and are then returned to them for marking and grading by an official body. The results are announced in August. IGCSE is a highly respected and internationally recognised qualification.
IGCSE is the national, broadly based exam taken at age 16. Subjects include:
Science - Biology, Chemistry and Physics (compulsory)
Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) (compulsory)
Physical Education (PE) (compulsory)
