YEAR 1

In science this week we discussed how to grow a plant in preparation for growing sunflowers in our playground garden patch. In English we worked on spelling our new science vocabulary, reading new books and exploring their morals, alongside developing our letter proportions and formation. In maths we continued to count in 2s, 5s and 10s in relation to random starting points on odd and even numbers, alongside progressing with subtraction.

YEAR 2

Year 2 are blossoming! Everyone enjoyed planting flowers, herbs and vegetables this week. The children chose to plant sunflowers, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes and ruccola (a herb). We look forward to taking care of our plants and watching them grow! In Maths, we are working hard to consolidate our knowledge of fractions. The next time the children have pizza (or cake) at home, ask them to tell you what fraction of the pizza they have eaten! Year 2 are writing wonderful sentences and are beginning to use speech marks. The children enjoyed their Friday clubs, they had a choice of Science, Poetry, Irish Dance, Art and Charades.
