YEAR 1

Dear parents,
This week we revised some of the topics that we have covered across the subjects over the past couple of weeks. In maths we covered counting one more and one less, properties of 2D and 3D shapes, fractions, counting in 10s, 5s and 2s, number patterns and worked out challenge cards. In science we revised the names of internal organs, tree parts and the names of materials that we used to make our crafts with. In English and phonics we practiced our spelling, rhyming chains and writing out the more difficult sounds in words. The children handled online lessons ever so maturely. Well done to them and to parents for supporting them in lessons. Thank you very much!

YEAR 2

I was glad to work with the fantastic Year 2 children this week! It was lovely to see their happy, smiling faces again! On Thursday, we celebrated April Fool’s Day by telling funny jokes and it was wonderful to see their joy and enthusiasm! Year 2 impressed me with their understanding of fractions and their recall of multiplication facts. We played a great multiplication game online and the children were happy to earn many house points for their teams. Year 2 wrapped up their Science unit on Water by learning about water safety and the water cycle. The children produced excellent diagrams of the water cycle with labels. They tried their best to explain tricky words such as evaporation, condensation and precipitation! Well done Year 2, I look forward to seeing you for Term 3! Have a lovely holiday!
