NURSERY

Nursery have taken full advantage of the glorious weather this week. They have had great fun riding their scooters on the track and playing ball games.

The PE lessons have been held outside, which has given the children the opportunity to demonstrate their gross motor skills in the fresh air.

During this short week we continued with our Spring theme. The children rolled into a tight ball shape to begin a growing sequence as a bulb deep down in the soil. With the music they stretched up their arms, twisting and turning to show the shoot growing towards the sun. Standing up they made a tight bud shape with their hands clasped together before slowly opening their fingers to reveal the petals of a flower.

We had fun meeting Enzo the bee in our yoga activity. The bumble fairy arrived and spread magic fairy pollen all over us.

Guess what? We started to grow two antennae a fuzzy furry black and yellow stripes two little wings and a sting at the back.

Off we flew to find Enzo in his bee hive……. Next week we will carry on our adventure.

This week’s activities were enjoyed by all. We did Spring addition, coloured by number and used our unifix blocks to measure and compare the different heights of our flowers.

We played eye spy and were able to locate and count the many different animals

such as chicks, sheep bunnies and flowers in our spring picture.

RECEPTION

We have had a very short week this week. The weather has been absolutely glorious and the children have been making the most of their outside play. PE lessons have also been taking place outside which has been so wonderful to be actively exercising outside in the beautiful weather.

We have continued with our Spring activities, including a scavenger hunt to find objects that we see in Spring, painting our own spring flowers, ordering flowers from shortest to tallest, playing games with sight words and phonic sounds. We have been continuing with our number recognition and addition to 20 and one-to-one correspondence during Maths.
