Dear Parents,
EYFS were an amazing audience during the dress rehearsal of the KS2 musical titled ‘Robin Hood and the Sherwood Hoodies’. Even though it was a long time to sit still, they were brilliant- fascinated by the performers in costume, singing and dancing, and proud to see siblings and other familiar faces on stage. Great job EYFS for being a great audience and KS2 for a an amazing performance!
In language and literacy, we have been recapping our phonic sounds learned, reviewing High Frequency words, and reading simple sentences by sounding out words in the sentences. We have also been retelling stories using picture storyboards to help us remember events and reciting our nursery rhymes. During our Numeracy lessons this week we have begun learning how to halve and share using concrete objects. We have also shared lollies and cupcakes among the three bears.
During our topic lessons, like good scientists, we continue to observe our seeds turn to seedlings, now that all seeds have sprouted. However the girls fascination with dandelion flowers has resulted in them blowing the seeds into our plant pots- Will our seedlings survive if the dandelions start to grow? I guess we will have to wait and see…Also we have started our final topic ‘Sports and Sporting Greats’. EYFS have been finding out about the Olympic Games and watching Olympic divers, cyclists, sprinter Usain Bolt, gymnasts…Many have already decided which sport they would like to compete in from Daniel the sprinter, Nathalie the gymnast, Kian the diver, Boris the swimmer, Viktor the cyclist….
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!
