Dear Parents,

It has been a short busy week, with EYFS having fun doing lots of art and craft activities linked to China and finding out more about our International Day country allocated to us by the Student Council. Children have loved making Chinese dragons, light catching lanterns, fortune tellers and fans. They looked amazing in their outfits from their home countries and China!

In language and literacy, we have been practicing reading our High Frequency words and decoding CVC words, while during our Numeracy lessons this week we have continued doing simple addition using the part whole model and pictorial representation. Children have been brilliant and worked confidently both adding and doubling using the part whole model.

During our topic lessons we have focused on International Day activities and children also found out more about why we were off school on Monday. They watched images and videos of the Victory Day celebrations while Miss Nastia explained why this is an important for Russia.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!

MUSIC

The nursery and reception were learning a new song, " Engine number Nine’" The students performed this song individually and together. We performed this song with actions that helped students learn the lyrics and made singing more fun.
