MATH

Year 13 students have been exploring the depths of Trigonometry learning new trigonometrical identities, functions and their graphs. Year 11s have learnt how to use Venn diagrams as a problem solving method in questions on intersecting sets. Year 9 students have completed their first summative assessment on topic Algebra and are impatiently awaiting their resultd that will be available to them tomorrow. They have started a new topic on 3D shapes and isometric drawing and have shown great enthusiasm on creating floor plans of various 3D shapes.

ENGLISH

This week KS4 classes have learned new literary devices to further enhance their understanding of texts. They have also undertaken research on the historical contexts in which their texts are set. Classes are starting to writer in more depth and their analysis skills are looking promising. Sixth form classes have started to look at poetry and develop their skills as this will constitute a large component of their exams.

DRAMA

Secondary has done very well, building on their knowledge of Freeze Frames, how they can effectively use their posture, transitions and facial expressions to tell a story. Students were put into groups, tasked with creating a story, then applying their understanding of Freeze Frames to walk the audience through their stories in a clear and concise manner. Each group did a fantastic job of creating a story and were successful in conveying their messages to the audience. It was a challenging task but everyone did very well.

PHYSICS

Another productive week! The year 13 have started a new unit on Electric Fields, while the year 12 are busy with the section on Closed Vectors. The year 11 have started revision on the section on Waves and will be writing a unit test soon. The year 10 have also started revison on Motion and are also gearing up for a test. The year 9 have completed Rates of Reactions and moving on to Energy Changes while the year 7 will be writing a test on Energy next week.

ART

Year 7 started a new artist – Gustav Klimt this week. Kids learnt a new art technique inspired by the golden art master of symbols, GUSTAV KLIMT and made their own pattern project ‘’Portrait of Adele Bloch Bauer"

PE

The students have been working hard to develop their basic skills this week. We have been learning about Passing and catching skills. The students have been learning how to dribble a ball on spot and during movements. They showed great ball control and they performed their agility during games. Thank you All for wonderful week!
