Another busy week has come to an end and once again the children have worked their socks off. The week started with us listening to the story Aliens Love Underpants and then we spent the week doing activities based on this awesome story. The children were asked to retell the story after they had listened to it, they did a great job retelling the story. They played space hide and seek, where various pictures were hidden around the house and they had to find each picture and then identify the picture.
In maths we did counting, adding and subtracting as well as working on number bonds to 10.
They were given the chance to make moulding sand, which is really fun to play with. Using the alien theme they designed their own planet and used their phonics to help them name the planet, they also created their own alien.
In the story the aliens took underpants from the washing line, we then decided that it was important to teach the aliens how to behave on our planet.
Even with all this amazing work going on, some of the children even managed to get in the kitchen and do a bit of baking.
MUSIC
Early Years keep exploring the pitch in music. This week they were learning about musical instruments with low and high pitches. They compared violin and double bass, bassoon and flute. Also, they played music games and sang songs.
