Dear Parents

As we come to the end of our first month of eLearning, I would like to write a few words of thanks to you all for your support.

These are extraordinary times and I am proud that as a school EIS has risen to the challenge to ensure that we continue to offer a quality education to all our students. Teachers at EIS have had to adapt to delivering their lessons online and have done so with a great deal of skill and ingenuity. Our students have shown resilience and a positive attitude to eLearning, led by the examples of their teachers and parents.

The current eLearning programme will continue until the 28th April at which time we will take the Spring break so that students, teachers and parents can have well deserved rest from the computer screens. Teaching will resume on Tuesday 12th May. At the current time it is still unclear whether we will return to school campuses or continue to teach online. Please be reassured that we will update you once advice is forthcoming from the Moscow authorities. What I can assure you is that we will, however, continue to work with all our students and their families to deliver a varied programme that ensures all our students continue on their important educational journey.

I look forward to the time when we can meet again in person and in the meantime send my best wishes to all our EIS families.

Regards

Malcolm C Phillips

Principal EIS Moscow

This week I have seen the children grow in confidence when using Canvas and See Saw and in some cases discovering new features of their online classroom even before their teachers. I hope this weekend they can also take some time away from their computer and enjoy some time with their family as I know some of you will be celebrating Orthodox Easter this Sunday.

This week the children have been getting creative and sharing their amazing artistic skills by entering our Easter art competition, There is still time to enter until Monday the 20th of April. So get creative over the weekend and share your Easter themed artwork, It could be a Easter hat, a picture or even a decorated egg. We have had some amazing entrances already and I can’t wait to see more.

Next week we will focusing our topic and science lessons on Earth Day and ways we can take care of the local environment if you would like more information about Earth day you can click here to find out more.

Best Wishes,

Mr. Ryan Hannah
