Year 3

We have had a Science focus in Year 3 this week. We began the week learning how to present our scientific data in line graphs to show the changing of shadows over the course of a day and conducted investigations into how light interacts with different objects. In Maths we have been working on money and finding change from set amounts and finally in English we have been looking at placement of speech in writing and how paragraphs and punctuation change accordingly.

Year 4

To our relief we finished up our assessments this week! We had the opportunity to learn about different countries and cultures during Mother tongue week, we even got to say some words in different languages! We also went to our last ski practice and luckily there was snow to ski on! We also celebrated Maslenitsa with so many fun activities and now we are looking forward to a relaxing half-term break!

Year 5

This week Year 5 have been working hard on finishing off projects and units of work as well as having fun with PE and the last day of skiing which took place yesterday. In Maths we used geometrical equipment to reinforce our estimation skills and refine our ability to measure out different volumes of liquid accurately. For Topic the children have been working hard at researching and finding out interesting facts about famous Russians and yesterday we managed to complete this fact finding mission with informal presentations from each child. I have been delighted with their work and the way in which they have worked diligently this half term which has been rather intense to say the least. I am really tired so they must be shattered too and I hope that everyone manages to have a fantastic and restful holiday.

Year 6

Year 6 has been extremely busy this week. We had our final skiing lesson, on Wednesday we all had Transition Day, spent with the Year 6 students from the West Campus. We spent the day in Secondary, learning what it will be like to transition out of Primary. It was a lot of fun! We also had a French assembly for Mother Tongue Week and we sang a song about the Champs-Élysées. Although we have been very busy it has been an exciting week.
