EARLY YEARS

Dear Parents,

In language and literacy, we have learned the “Pp” sound in phonics, learning how to form the letter ‘p’, singing the ‘Puff out the candles’ song and finding things that begin with ‘p’. Our favourite story this week was ‘Unicorn and horse’.

In Numeracy, students have focused on one more. They have been working on interactive whiteboard activities (which they love), with concrete objects to count out amounts, writing the amount in figures and then adding on one more, as well as adding one more spot to the ladybird .

In our learning area ‘Understanding of the World’, we have continued to look at the topic ‘Celebrations’ and this week we found out about Chinese New Year. We especially enjoyed making and decorating Chinese lanterns and our Chinese dragons, while doing the dragon dance along the corridors.

With the continued snowfall this week, children loved playing in the snow. They loved making snow angels, snowmen, snow cats and snow mice, while having snowball fights.

Wishing everyone a lovely, restful weekend!
