Dear Parents,

From nature walks, to nature scavenger hunts, this week’s wonderful weather has allowed EYFS to do much exploring outside the classroom.

The outdoor space has provided students with opportunity to understand the process and value of sharing; with phrases such as “Can I play too”, and “Five minutes, please,” children can understand the needs of others around them, and can use words to communicate acceptance and the willingness to share, “I hear you”, “Here you go…”.

Inside the classroom, Math focus was given to sorting, classification, and patterns. Vocabulary such as “Taller”, “Shorter”, “Same”, “Different”, and other words to describe sorting and pattern process were used more freely amongst the students.

For Literacy and language, Peppa Pig books continue to be a favorite for story time, although we are enjoying books with various animals and animal sounds as well. As students finish their lunch, they are getting accustomed to quiet time with a book to settle with. We will have avid book worms in no time (smile).

Hard to believe that the end of September is just around the corner already! Next week we hope to release a compilation of class work and achievements for your child to take home and share with you the learning that has taken place this month.

Until next week, we wish you a wonderful weekend from the EYFS team!
