Last February we were visited by the CIS accreditation team. It was a positive week and EIS received considerable recognition for the excellent work being done within our community to ensure that we provide the best of British education to our students.
Why CIS?
The Council of International Schools (CIS) has a membership of 733 schools representing 116 countries around the world.
As a leader in the field of school evaluation, CIS provides a unique international accreditation with a focus on student learning and global citizenship. The quality and rigour of CIS International Accreditation is recognised by ministries, departments of education, and universities worldwide as the demonstration of a school’s commitment to high quality international education.
Here are some highlights from the preliminary report:
"The academic programme, as well as the attention to international mindedness, is flourishing at EIS."
"Of particular note are the small class sizes and the teacher-to-student ratio. In each class there is a teacher and a full-time assistant (who is trained in education and speaks Russian). This allows for a very individualised approach to education and the ability to be inclusive of a wide range of student abilities. Also notable is how the school encourages students and families to be active in decisions that focus on student well-being and school improvement."
"The evaluators would like to recognise the commitment of the Board and the school leadership for their drive and determination to provide a high-quality education for all EIS students. Their work in the classroom, in the administrative offices, the canteen, and in the maintenance of the school facilities provides the foundation for the wonderful education that is afforded to every student. They should take great pride in the ongoing success that they have achieved."
