Another week has flown by in Year 1 and we can’t quite believe next week is the last week before the half term break! In phonics, we have learned the sounds ‘th’, ‘sh’, ‘ch’ and ‘qu’ but have also revised our tricky words too such as ‘said’, ‘Mr’ and ‘Mrs’. During Engish lessons, we have been learning how to label and have been labelling our favourite superheroes using adjectives! In Maths lessons, we have been learning how to work out the missing number in a number sentence using our number lines to help us. Science has seen us learning about the body parts of animals and how some animals share the same type of body parts.
Assessment week for Year 2 and some very positive results - proof that working hard pays off. Well done, children!
Our Science assessment involved a large information poster centering on materials. Some children focused on one material and highlighted the various properties and expressions. Others highlighted various materials.
Of course, this is the week of love and Year 2 made some stunning cards for Valentine’s Day. Inside each card was a personalised message with the artwork to match. Beautiful 3D covers completed the look!
