EYFS Teacher

I have enthusiastically served as a teacher for three-and-a-half decades, having taught in South Africa and New Zealand and, more recently, as head of Early Years departments in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria, and Baku, Azerbaijan. I am especially proud that, while serving as head of an Early Years department in Abuja, Nigeria, Penta International inspectors rated teaching and learning in my Early Years Department as 'outstanding'. Over the past academic year, I have enjoyed teaching in an Early Years department in a neighbouring school in Moscow. My teaching is characterised by a strong child-centred approach. My classroom is a happy, safe learning environment. I am passionate about international education and celebrating diversity within the classroom. I am committed to ensuring that pupils are well-equipped with the requisite skills to guarantee success in the twenty-first century: communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.

Mr Reddy

Science Teacher / Head of Secondary / Exam Officer

I am honoured to be a part of this great school, which is the perfect place for children to be taught in a family friendly environment. I am qualified as a specialist physics teacher. My secondary specialist subjects also include chemistry, mathematics and science. It has been my privilege to teach these subjects for the last 27 years in different schools (Africa, Europe and the Middle East) with varying curriculums that helped me grow as a teacher. I also have extensive experience in many district exam boards and I was previously a marker in the National physics exams. Teaching is my passion and I am always learning in the process. I always look at concepts from my student’s point of view so that I can build from that pre-knowledge.

Apart from my teaching role at EIS I am very passionate about the development of the Curriculum since I believe that it must be looked at holistically and every year group is an integral building block. It is important to have progression horizontally and vertically so our students can get the best out their time at EIS. It is one of the primary aspects of the learning process and it is part of my job to assimilate this in our teaching and learning. I will be continuously assessing our curriculum and looking at innovative ways in which we can integrate all subjects across all year groups. There are over-arching concepts across our curriculum that will be highlighted in our teaching and learning that can ensure that good progression is made. In other words there are some skills that can really help our students make great improvement as they progress to higher year groups and I(with our staff) will identify these skills and help our students hone on it so that they can get the best of their time here at EIS.

I am also responsible for the fine-tuning of our Assessment programmes and I assist in the planning of all internal and external examinations. We are always evolving with the changes in curriculum and exam boards so I help facilitate these transitions. We are working on developing a Tracking programme that will assist in identifying our students progress so wherever possible we can develop Individual Learning Plans to help our students. Our school is also UCAS registered (a body that helps students enter top-tier universities in the United Kingdom), and I am the school UCAS representative. We as a school also take great interest in your child’s future even after they leave our school and we will do our best to prepare them for university or even other schools if they have to leave. I as a curriculum leader will always strive to everything in the best interest of your child.

Ms Fox

Secondary Art Teacher / KS5 Coordinator

Ayup me duck (Nottingham's finest colloquialism for hello).I am Megan Fox, and I am an Art and Design teacher from Nottingham, England. I gained a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art in 2015, shortly afterwards I completed my TEFL qualification that initially started my journey into teaching. To which I was lucky enough to spend a summer in an educational camp in Romania, which was a wonderful experience. Later that year, I decided to go on to complete my PGCE in Secondary Education. This is my first international teaching role, and I am delighted EIS have given me this opportunity.I am incredibly passionate about teaching young people such an expressive subject, as I believe Art can empower everyone to be creative and thrive positively. I aim for a vibrant classroom environment where students are encouraged to challenge themselves and to fulfil their potential with pride.

In Sixth Form, we challenge the students to be the best that they can be. Our goal is for each individual to leave us with the skills and tools needed to move on to their next steps. Our curriculum is highly personalised to the long-term outcomes of the individual and focuses on supporting students to become more independent in all aspects of their lives.

At EIS, we have designed a personalised careers curriculum for KS5, to support them, from studying to working life. . Our curriculum promotes independence for all of our students. This includes teaching students to make their own choices, developing the skills to live independently , looking after the home and managing their own emotions.

KS5 students are also supported in their writing skills for personal statements, C.Vs and how to apply for different careers. We also facilitate visits from various international universities to introduce them to university life and provide students with important information for their higher educational studies, and offer 1-2-1 support for university applications, as well as career advice. Your child will be strongly encouraged to undertake a few days of work experience during their time here as well. There are many positive benefits for students attending a work experience placement and these are discussed with the students and their parents during Year 12; we will also provide updates on how the placement is benefiting the student and they will be issued with a certificate at the end of their placement to celebrate their successes. We also support students to manage their own physical and mental health within the KS5 provision . Students learn about healthy living, are encouraged to exercise and they, also, have access to our in-school support counsellor in aid of their well-being.

We have a strong sense of community at EIS, and we teach our students to have the same, and to act with respect and integrity in, and outside, of the school. We have access to many local community facilities and pride ourselves on our relationships with a plethora of local companies and charities, especially to enhance our future work placements for our students. We teach our students to become actively involved in their communities and throughout the year, the students work hard to fundraise for a local charity.

All students are empowered to make positive transitions from EIS to their future destinations, ensuring that they start on the right foot for their next stage in life. From revision support, to mock job interviews, we aim to ensure each student feels confident and excited for their next steps in life.

I graduated with a Master’s degree in Aerospace materials (Chemistry) from the Moscow Aviation University and also got a PGCE diploma in Sunderland University (UK).

In the EIS I teach Chemistry and Mathematics in Secondary school and I truly love my job. I think that it is essential for all students in a class to feel comfortable and always be challenged. This is what I try to follow in my lessons, using an individual approach for every pupil. Every day my students learn, but they also help me to analyse what was done well and where I should improve and do better next time.

In my free time I travel a lot and go downhill skiing with my family.
